Partnering with our farmers on far flung barangays of Palawan is such a challenging endeavor because reaching them requires much effort due to their location and terrain.  However, our Farm Konek team has been on the ground for the roll out of our app to register thousands of farmers while clustering them online.

On the photo is a vegetable plantation that can yield tons of fresh tomatoes to supply our homes.

We are getting there! We see so much hope in what we do, and despite all the hurdles, we know that our efforts will soon make a difference in solving the food supply crisis of our country.

We are hopeful more than ever!

We cannot contain our joy together with our Eco-Warriors who are now trailblazing the path towards collecting recyclables from big institutions such as Go Hotels, a Nationwide Chain of Hotels, while also conducting orientation to the management and staff.

Our Eco-Warriors explain the types of garbages that the collect and also a portion of their stories as informal waste pickers in the city and how the Eco Kolek Project with the assistance of USAID Clean Cities Blue Ocean has made an impact on their lives.

Did you know that Robinsons Supermarket and Go Hotels are officially partnering with us for scheduled pick-ups together with LGU to ensure that the recyclables are separated and collected? Our Eco Warriors are also empowered to teach their staff to be aware of waste characterization.

Thank you to USAID  #CleanCitiesBlueOcean for facilitating this powerful collaboration and discussing this with the Robinsons’ top management.

To consider Eco Kolek as one of the prototypes in creating inclusive business models with informal waste pickers while addressing plastic pollution and promoting waste segregation at source.

We are initially increasing the value economically of IWC’s involved in our business model. Looking forward to accelerating bigger funding and investment support to open opportunities for informal waste collectors.

From $334,000 dollars worth of initial value-adding funding, we look forward to increasing it within the year to accelerate support to communities in addressing ocean plastics and inclusivity in waste management. One Ecosystem!
