Project Zacch traverses air, land, and sea despite Super Typhoon Karding to reach and train 25 smallholder farmers on Organizational Management in remote areas of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro (a 2-hour ride from the City of Calapan). It was held on September 27-29, 2022, at Jopat’s Resort & Hotel.
Farmers from different associations of Oriental Mindoro attended the said Training organized by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) - MIMAROPA, which is also in support of the Department of Agriculture’s One DA Reform Agenda — Farm and Fisheries Clustering and Consolidation (F2C2) Program. These farmer associations are focusing on growing lowland vegetables that are supplied to their municipalities/provinces, as well as in Metro Manila.
PZC shares its expertise in transformational leadership through its Servant Leadership Labs, SWOT Analysis, and Design Thinking approach to agricultural change. Various leadership activities were conducted to facilitate adult learning, life reflections, and sharing of experiences to boost the leadership qualities of each participant and their organizations.
Using different tools and strategies, participants were able to map out their resources, potential stakeholder partners, realized opportunities for improvements and possible threats that can be mitigated from the occurrence.
Project Zacch, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture and its Training Institute, targets to empower more smallholder farmers in MIMAROPA to become community impact leaders who promote the agriculture sector towards eradicating poverty and securing food security.
Three of our Eco-Warriors gave a special number to warm up their Graduation Ceremony and encourage everyone to enjoy the journey.
Such an effort is a great indicator in assessing how we have taught them to believe in what they can do, not just as waste pickers, but as empowered women of the society.
From silent community classes, they have now learned to share their talents that inspire everyone to participate, share, and express themselves in front of a greater audience.
Go go Eco-Warriors!
Nanay Pacita, our 92 year-old Eco-Warrior graduated today from the SWM Program of Eco Kolek.
She also got her Training Certificate from TESDA which can qualify her to work with establishments needing skilled workers to take care of their solid waste management program.
Congratulations Nanay Pacita! We love you! ❤️
